Generic Temovate ClobetasolCream and Ointment are super-high potency corticosteroid formulations used for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses. Treatment is recommended for 2 consecutive weeks, and the total dosage should not go beyond 50 g/week due to the possibilities for the drug to suppress the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. This medication is not approved for use in pediatric patients less than 12 years of age.

Important Notes on Temovate

Do not apply plastic bandages, dressings, or diapers that do not allow air to circulate to the area (occlusive dressings) if your doctor has not told you to do so. The use of occlusive dressings can significantly increase the amount of drug the body absorbs. It shouldn’t be applied Generic Temovate Clobetasol to treat any skin condition that it is not prescribed for. This could be unsafe. This drug is not approved for use in children younger than12 years of age. Do not use Temovate to treat a child, except it is prescribed by a pediatric doctor. Children are more responsive to the effects of this drug. If you are using Generic Temovate Clobetasol cream, ointment, foam or gel, it should not be more than 50 grams, or more than 50 mL of the lotion in 1 week, or apply it for longer than 2 weeks in a row unless otherwise directed by your doctor. The OLUX foam is flammable. Avoid fire, flame, and smoking during and immediately following application of the medication.

You should not use clobetasol topical to treat skin on your face, underarms, or groin area without your doctor's advice. Do not get this medication in your eyes. If contact does occur unknowingly, clean with water. Clobetasol topical should not be used on broken or infected skin. Also avoid using this medication in open wounds.

Extended and intensive treatment with Generic Temovate Clobetasol may cause local atrophic changes in the skin such as thinning, striae and dilatation of the superficial blood vessels, mainly when occlusive dressings are used or when skin folds are involved. Some have reported of pigmentation changes and hypertrichosis with topical steroids. Clobetasol Propionate is usually well tolerated, but if signs of hypersensitivity appear, discontinue application without delay.
