Meprate, Medroxyprogesterone

Meprate is used in the treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis and amenorrhea. Meprate is also used as a contraceptive or for heavy, painful, irregular or missed periods.

Meprate is a progestogen, which is a female hormone. It works as a contraceptive by preventing the ovaries from releasing eggs. Meprate also thickens the cervical mucus and changes the uterine lining, making it harder for sperm to enter or survive in the uterus.
