Uses
Victoza is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus which is also known as non-insulin-dependent diabetes (NIDDM)
How it Works
Victoza works by stimulating and allowing the pancreas to product more insulin when the blood sugar(glucose) level is high. Victoza also helps to lower glucagon and slows down the emptying of the stomach. Victoza lowers the blood sugar in the blood which leads to other body tissues where it is used for energy.
Common Side effects
Patients who take Victoza may suffer from such side effects;
Nausea,
Vomiting,
Headache,
Diarrhoea,
Hypoglycaemia
