Avandia is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus which is also known as non-insulin-dependent diabetes (NIDDM).

How it Works

Avandia operates by reducing the amount of glucagon and increases the amount of insulin produced by the pancreas to control the blood sugar levels in the body. Glucagon causes the liver to produce more sugar, so by Avandia reducing the amount of glucagon in the body, this also helps to reduce the levels of glucose in the blood which then helps in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
