Etodolac is used for the elevation, prevention and treatment of pain. Etodolac is used for the treatment of pain in joints, rheumatoid arthritis and also osteoarthritis.

Etodolac is known as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug or also NSAID. Etodolac works by suppressing the production of prostaglandins which are responsible for the cause of inflammation such as swelling and redness, it also helps the elevation of fever and pain.

How it Works

Etodolac is known as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug or an NSAID. Etodolac works by reducing the hormones which then block the release of chemical messengers which are the main cause inflammation and pain thus reducing the side effects caused. Etodolac reduces the levels of prostaglandins which are the chemicals that are responsible for the sensation of pain. Etodolac  does this by blocking the enzyme that makes prostaglandins which is called cyclooxygenase, by blocking this enzyme, lower concentrations of prostaglandins are produced thus reducing inflammation and pain.
