It acts on the red blood cell to take up adenosine which considers itself working as an inhibitor on reactivation of platelet, inhibition of phosphodiesterase contributing to increase the 5'-adenosine monophosphate, within platelets, thromboxane A2 formation inhibition- a potent stimulator of platelet activation and cyclic-3'. In scientific studies, platelet reactivity is believe with good interface on cardiac valve prosthetic surfaces that results to lessen the platelet time of survival. This is the important element which plays an important role in thromboembolic complications that exists in connection of the prosthetic heart valve replacement and the Dipyridamole was also discovered as the length of abnormal shortening of the platelet life span in the survival of the dose medicine in a manner of introducing it to the patient. The three random control clinical trials involve the 854 patients who have undergo the surgical operation in replacement of their prosthetic heart valve, it's there that dipyridamole is combined with warfarin medication alone. The occurrence of such thromboembolic tendencies among patients who receive the combination of warfarin and dipyridamole ranges from 1.2% to 1.8% base on the result. There it revealed that 392 patients using coumarin-like anticoagulants, and dipyridamole also shown that thromboembolic occurrence is ranging from 2.3 %to 6.9%.
