Clavix-AS, Aspirin / Clopidogrel

Aspirin is used in the treatment to reduce fever and relieve mild to moderate pain from conditions such as muscle aches, toothaches, common cold, and headaches. Aspirin is also used to reduce pain and swelling in conditions such as arthritis.

Aspirin is known as a salicylate and a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).Aspirin blocks an enzyme called cyclooxygenase, or COX, and stops production of substances called prostaglandins that contribute to pain, swelling and fever.

Patients who take Aspirin may suffer from such side effects;

Gastrointestinal irritation,
Nausea,
Vomiting,
Dyspepsia,
Gastritis,
Bleeding disorder,
Reduced blood platelets,
Gastric erosion,
Gastric ulcer
Black, bloody, or tarry stools,
Fever lasting longer than 3 days,
Swelling, or pain lasting longer than 10 days

Clopidogrel is used to prevent blood clots after a recent heart attack or stroke, and in unstable angina.

Clopidogrel works by preventing platelets in the blood from sticking together and forming a blood clot therefore this helps in prevention of heart attacks and unstable angina.

Some of the potential side effects of Clopidogrel can include the symptoms below;

Diarrhoea,
Chest pain,
Collection of blood under the skin,
deep, dark purple bruise
Abdominal pain,
Dyspepsia,
Bleeding.
