Megestrial is a chemical similar to the female hormone progesterone. Megestrial helps to treat loss of appetite and weight loss in people with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome or also known as AIDS. Megestrial is also used in hormone replacement therapy. Megestrial works to start menstruation by replacing the natural progesterone that some women are missing.
