Uses
Tenof is used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis b virus (hbv) infection and hiv infections.
How it Works
Tenof is an antiretroviral medicine known as nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). Tenof slows the progress of HIV infection, but it is not a cure. Tenof is used with other medicines in a combination therapy. Tenof works by by stopping the virus HIV from copying (replicating) itself. Tenof works by stopping the hepatitis B virus from multiplying further, this reduces the amount of the virus in your body.
