Cinchocaine Hydrochloride BP………………………..10mg

in an ointment base.

ACTION:

The active ingredient in Faktu®, Policresulen is a polymolecular organic acid. Policresulen coagulates necrotic or pathologically altered tissue in anorectal disorders and promotes desquamation of such tissues. However, the healthy tissues that surround the wound are not affected. According to local haemostatic, Policresulen coagulates blood proteins, thereby inducing muscle fibres of small vessel to contract and thus any haemorrhage in the anal canal or in the perianal areas will be rapidly controlled. Policresulen also induces hyperaemia in the wound area and therefore stimulates regeneration and re-epithelialization process. The coagulation properties and the acid pH (4.0) renders Faktu® its potent antimicrobial activity. Thus Faktu® guards against infection and prevents inflammation. Policresulen suppresses oozing, a common symptom of haemorrhoidal diseases as it also has astringent property. The two symptoms associated with haemorrhoidal disorders like pain and itching are somehow treat by a proven anaesthetic called Cinchocaine. Thus, by doing so Faktu® rapidly reduces pain, bleeding, itching and oozing and prevents infection and inflammation and stimulates the regeneration of the affected tissue.
