Almotriptan is used in the treatment of acute migraine attacks
How it Works
Almotriptan works by constricting or narrowing blood vessels, thereby relieving the migraine headaches. Almotriptan also belongs to a class of medicines known as 5HT1-receptor agonists or also known as triptans. Triptans work by stimulating the receptors of a natural substance in the brain called serotonin which is also called 5HT this then eases the symptoms of a migraine attack.
