Zafirlukast

Zafirlukast is used for the treatment of asthma and also to prevent asthma.

Zafirlukast is known as a leukotriene inhibitor. Zafirlukast works by blocking the action of leukotriene, leukotrines cause inflammation which then cause chest tightness and shortness of breath this also causes the lining of the airways to make extra mucus which causes coughing. Zafirlukast lowers inflammation in the airways and nasal passages to prevent asthma.
