How it Works
Glimepiride works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas. Insulin helps to control the levels of Glucose (Sugar) in your blood. Insufficient or ineffective insulin causes type 2 diabetes. Glimepiride works when diet and exercise alone fail to control abnormally high levels of blood sugar.
Common Side effects
Patients who take Glimepiride may suffer from such side effects; Hypoglycemia (Low blood sugar level), Nausea, Headache, Dizziness, Anemia and other blood disorders, Blurred vision, Diarrhea, Dizziness, Headache, Itching, Liver problems and jaundice, Muscle weakness, Nausea, Sensitivity to light, Skin rash and eruptions, Stomach and intestinal pain, Vomiting.
