Viread is used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis b virus (hbv) infection and hiv infections.
How it Works
Viread is an antiretroviral medicine known as nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). Viread slows the progress of HIV infection, but it is not a cure. Viread is used with other medicines in a combination therapy. Viread works by by stopping the virus HIV from copying (replicating) itself. Viread works by stopping the hepatitis B virus from multiplying further, this reduces the amount of the virus in your body.
