Uses
Estrogen is used for the treatment of post menopausal osteoporosis, used in hormone replacement therapy (hrt) and also used as a contraception.
How it Works
Estrogens play an important role in the female body, in particular the maintenance of the reproductive system, while it also contributes to secondary sexual characteristics. Estrogens works by maintaining the estrogen levels in the body, thereby relieving the symptoms occurring after menopause.

Patients who take Estrogens may suffer from such side effects; Headache, Abdominal pain, Sexual dysfunction, Breast tenderness, Metrorrhagia, Nausea, Mood changes, Breast enlargement, Change in body weight, Fibroid, Edema

The acceptable duration of storage at room temperature for this product is 7 days for the injectable products.
Introduction
This medication is taken only by women. It contains conjugated estrogen, which means estrogen that is obtained from the natural sources. It balances the estrogen hormone in the body which are required for several processes in the female body.
Use
Premarin is used in the treatment of several symptoms arising out of menopause. It can be used to treat vaginal dryness, burning and irritation of vagina, and hot flashes. It can also be used to prevent osteoporosis in women after menopause. This medicine can be used as a replacement of estrogen in women with ovarian failure or if there is a lack of natural estrogen in the body.
Dosage and administration
This medicine must be taken orally with or without food. Usually, a tablet of 0.625 mg strength is recommended to be taken once every day. In some conditions, the medicine is given in cycles, i.e. continue the medicine for 3 weeks and then stop for 1 week, then repeat this cycle. Take this drug exactly as prescribed by a doctor. Do not take more or less quantities of this tablet than recommended. In case you miss a dose, do not try to combine 2 doses at a time. Skip the missed dose and continue with the normal schedule.

In case you are allergic to any substance or develop new allergies towards any of the ingredients present in this medicine then consult a doctor immediately.Inform the doctor about the patientβs medical history, such as heart attack, stroke, blood clot, asthma, liver or kidney diseases, lupus, gallbladder diseases, any form of cancer such as breast uterine etc. prior to the intake of this medicine.Consult a doctor immediately if there is vaginal bleeding after taking this drug.As this drug causes dizziness, therefore the patient should avoid work which requires alertness such as driving or using machines.Do not smoke or consume alcohol while on medication as they may result in reduced effectiveness.Do not take this medicine during pregnancy or if you are a breastfeeding mother. However, if it is extremely important to have this medicine, then consult a doctor prior to intake.
