How it Works
Minoxidil topical works by increasing blood flow to the hair follicles and increasing hair follicle size, thus prolonging the growth phase of these follicles allowing hair to regrow.

Minoxidil is a topical solution or foam to be applied on the scalp to reduce the thinning of hair, limit hair loss, and stimulate new hair growth. It belongs to a class of drugs known as vasodilators. It has given positive clinical results in 8 weeks and visible results in just 24 weeks of regular use.
Minoxidil is available as solution and foam in concentrations of 2%, 5%, and 10% to be applied topically. It is indicated to prevent the problems of hair loss in both men and women due to thinning of the hair and weaker hair follicles. It only works when it comes in contact with the scalp.
Dosage and administration
Read all the instructions on the leaflet and follow the doctor’s guidelines. Do not take more than the recommended dose as such may lead to serious side effects. For solution: First, clean and dry the scalp area. Fill about 1 ml of the solution or about 20 drops in the applicator. Divide the hair and gently apply the solution on the area of hair thinning. Next, rub the solution gently with the finger. For foam: Rinse and clean your hands and scalp. Allow them to dry. Dispense half cap of the foam in your hands and apply it on the area of thinning hair. Gently rub with your fingers and wash your hands thoroughly after the application. Note: Allow the solution or the foam to be absorbed and the area to be dried before applying any other styling products or before going to bed. It usually takes 4 to 6 months for your hair to show visible changes. It is advised to use the product regularly.
Inform your doctor before starting the medicine if you are allergic to this drug or to any other substances.Before using this medication, tell your doctor if you have any history of skin problems like eczema, cuts on the scalp, kidney problems, liver disorders, heart problems like irregular heartbeat, heart attack, etc.Pregnant women and breast feeding mothers are to use this medication only if it has been prescribed by the doctor.Although rare, in case of any allergic reactions like unwanted facial hair, irregular heartbeat, tiredness, breathing difficulties, etc., discontinue the use and seek immediate health care.This medication is not recommended for children under 14 years of age.
